USA Issue 79

Revolution June 2025

The Summer issue of Revolution USA is something of a bumper one. In addition to the usual sections there is an extra one dedicated to the best timepieces and brands at Watches and Wonders 2025. As well as the usual round-up, we asked all of our editors to choose their top five watches and, while some of them were no-brainers, others were slightly more surprising.

This year is developing into quite a big one for women’s mechanical watches with brands seeming to turn their backs on the hit-and-miss idea of unisex models in favor of tailored design and diminutive movements.

Our cover story focuses on the new Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 30mm, a new complete collection that is powered by the smallest ever Co-axial Master Chronometer caliber

In another new launch, the Rosenfield family and Kari Voutilainen have introduced a trio of Urban Jürgensen haute horlogerie watches that see the brand giving a nod to the 1980s and 1990s when it was helmed by Peter Baumberger with Derek Pratt serving as Technical Director.

The styling, however, is pure 21st century with the German fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth now serving as UJ's Photography Director.

And, in a link to this story, Wei Koh provides the ultimate guide to constant-force remontoir d’égalité wristwatches.

Elsewhere, we take a look at the burgeoning watch collection of Twisted Sister founder Jay Jay French – alongside his multi-million-dollar guitar lineup.

And with heavy hearts we pay our final respects to the last master case maker Jean-Pierre Hagmann by presenting some of his greatest works for Patek Philippe.
