First impressions of the Mohareb are undoubtedly striking. It is an ultra thin shaped watch inspired by historic warrior helmets that transforms time into a kinetic language through the use of a retrograde jump hour and a vertical minute indicator. Each of our collaborative watches features a unique engraved pattern meant to recall ancient warrior culture expressed through runic symbolism and hieroglyphics. We've named the bronze colorway 'Desert Relic' and the blue 'Ocean Relic' to push this concept just that bit further — as if these watches were future relics buried deep in the desert sand, or at the bottom of the ocean floor, left behind for distant explorers.

Unlike many avant-gardist, modernist watches in this category, the Mohareb is distinguished by its extraordinary refinement thanks to its extremely slim profile measuring just 8.6mm in height. In fact, the top plate measures just 0.25mm; any thinner and its structural integrity would have been compromised. This slimmess was achieved through unconventional means: Maghnam eschewed traditional manufacturers and turned to a company that CNC machines surgical tools in order to accomplish this. Inside, the movement, too, has been heavily reworked by Sohaib Maghnam himself. Powered by the manual winding MCR01, the base Sellita SW210 calibre has its retrograde jump hour and vertical minutes indicators custom designed.

On the Desert Relic, you'll find a bronze PVD treatment meant to recall the material used for helmets, shields and greaves worn by warriors throughout history, complemented by red elements.

Shipping is expected to commence end September to early October.

WANDERING HOUR, RETROGRADE MINUTES

Inside, the movement has been heavily reworked by Sohaib Maghnam himself. Powered by the manual winding MCR01, the base Sellita SW210 calibre has its retrograde jump hour and vertical minutes modules custom designed for a distinctive kinetic expression of time.

DOUBLE BLADED SILHOUETTE

The Mohareb was originally designed to be modular watch, with swappable armaments such as Halo, Wings and Armor. The majority of Mohareb buyers chose the configuration called Blades, which are the basis of the Desert and Ocean Relic. Its name recalls the swooping form of two blade-like brancards, as if a double-sided battle axe was gleaned from alien distant shores. The avant-garde aesthetic doesn't lack refined finishing either, with contrasting matte and polished surfaces of the case.

WARRIOR INSPIRATION

Each of our collaborative watches features a unique laser engraved pattern meant to recall ancient warrior culture expressed through runic symbolism and hieroglyphics.

EXCEPTIONAL SLIMNESS

Unlike many avant-gardist, modernist watches in this category, the Mohareb is distinguished by its extraordinary refinement thanks to its extremely slim profile measuring just 8.6mm in height. In fact, the top plate measures just 0.25mm; any thinner and its structural integrity would have been compromised. This slimmess was achieved through unconventional means: Maghnam eschewed traditional manufacturers and turned to a company that CNC machines surgical tools in order to accomplish this. The result are striking proportions that retain a sense of elegance that complements the futuristic aesthetic.
