20 YEARS, 10 YEARS, A DECADE LONG TRIBUTE

To celebrate Revolution’s 10th anniversary, we introduced the PAM 0599 — a fully DLC-coated titanium Luminor Marina in 44mm, limited to just 50 pieces. The special 00/50 piece was auctioned for Alan Bloore, affectionately known as “Hammer,” a beloved Panerai enthusiast who suffered a freak accident that left him paralysed. All proceeds went to Hammer’s chosen charity, the Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association. The PAM 0599 drew inspiration from a reference dear to both Wei and Alan: the 1996 5218-218/A Luminor Marina, distinguished by its black PVD-coated steel case and “four-line” dial — Luminor, Panerai, Black Seal, Slytech. Now, a decade later, the PAM 01708 pays tribute not only to the spirit of the PAM 0599 but also to Revolution’s 20th anniversary. It retains much of the original’s DNA, yet reimagines it in a Destro configuration — a nod to another of Wei’s favourites, the left-handed variants of the 1960s 6152/1 and the iconic PAM 026.

THE FIRST “DESTRO” IN CARBOTECH

Panerai introduced its first Carbotech watch in 2015 with the PAM 0616, featuring a blacked-out case distinguished by a unique marbled pattern formed from layered carbon fiber. This high-performance material is created by compressing thin sheets of carbon fiber with a high-end polymer (PEEK), resulting in an exceptionally dense and stable composite. Carbotech offers a host of advantages: it is extremely lightweight, highly resistant to corrosion, impressively scratch- and impact-resistant, thermally stable, hypoallergenic, and visually distinctive. These properties make it one of the most compelling materials in modern watchmaking, delivering outstanding comfort and durability for daily wear. Now, for the first time in a decade, Carbotech returns in a limited edition for our 20th anniversary—this time in a Destro configuration, marking a first for this material in our special editions

SUBTLE YET MEANINGFUL

The Panerai PAM01708 is deeply rooted in the Maison’s DNA, yet carries a distinct nod to Revolution. Subtle but meaningful touches—such as the “Revolution” engraving on Panerai’s patented crown-locking lever and a custom calf strap featuring the bespoke Revolution star logo—celebrate the partnership. These details may be small, but they represent a sincere and enduring connection between Panerai and Revolution.

This approach pays homage to Revolution’s birthplace, Singapore, while still allowing watch enthusiasts around the world to partake in this special release.
