Sinn 155 S Bright Star TEGIMENT® (155 S Revolution II)
Five years on from our iconic first collaboration with Sinn, we’re proud to announce the SINN 155 S Bright Star TEGIMENT® (155 S Revolution II), the first fully black version of this watch ever to see the light of day, and that’s just the start. Before we find out what makes this particular version of the 155 S special, here is a quick primer on why the model itself is legendary. The 155 Bundeswehr chronograph was made for the West German Federal Defence Force from 1967 onwards, and in the 1980s, Helmut Sinn began selling decommissioned Bundeswehr watches under the Sinn name. These watches feature an incredibly legible twin register dial layout with military numerals and a bi-directional pilot’s bezel. With this limited edition, this core design is unchanged, but we’ve made it tougher. Not only is the crystal sapphire for the first time on this model, but the case has been fully Tegimented, Sinn’s proprietary case hardening technology that increases the surface hardness and scratch resistance of the steel five fold. On top of that, the 43mm case has been given an all-black makeover.

TEGIMENT® tough
Sinn is fiercely protective of exactly how their TEGIMENT treatment works, but you can’t argue with the results. TEGIMENT steel is five times harder than standard stainless steel, and is more akin to ceramic than metal. On this watch, the case, bezel, pushers, crown and even screw-down caseback have been given this hardening treatment, making for one tough watch.
Blacked-out
After the TEGIMENT treatment, the Bright Star undergoes a coating of black, applied using the Physical Vapor Deposition method. Often this ultra-hard coating is applied to softer metals, which can cause cracks or flaking, but in this case, the comparable surface hardness of the steel and and the coating makes for a much higher quality coating.
A light in the darkness
Legibility is a core feature of this purpose-built pilot’s watch, so while the entire watch is pitch black, the hands and numerals shine bright with pure white Super-LumiNova. This extends to the Revolution star at six, under normal light it’s as black as the dial, but at night it glows bright.
Reliable inside and out
The calibre beating inside the Bright Star is as reliable as the ultra-hard case. The automatic Sellita SW510 is a triple-layered cam chronograph based on the proven 7750, a design widely acclaimed for its stable and high torque as well as balanced power.
